Apple Releases macOS Big Sur 11.3.
Because the "advanced" button is still on the support site for Monterey I think this was probably an accidental omission from the OS and they will fix it. Alongside iOS 14.5.1 and watchOS 7.4.1, Apple today also released macOS Big Sur 11.3.1, which the company says 'provides important security.
So the button is there in Big Sur, I updated, and it's gone in Monterey. The company has released iOS 14.4.1 and macOS 11.2.3, both of which are described as being 'recommended for all users'. The fix is to go to displays and make the external monitor your main display, it will allow you to wake the closed lid laptop with the keyboard or mouse (my husband figured that out, not Apple). Apple has issued a couple of important security updates for its desktop and mobile operating systems. I contacted support and they were confused and kept elevating it until they found someone who said that button had been removed and had no solution for not being able to wake the laptop with bluetooth devices. My settings doesn't have an advanced button. I googled and found this Apple support article that says to go to bluetooth settings and click advanced and check to allow peripherals to wake the laptop. Owners of older iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices that don't support recent.
To resolve the flaws, Apple has released iOS 14.5.1, iPadOS 14.5.1, macOS Big Sur 11.3.1 and watchOS 7.4.1. I noticed that every time I wanted to wake up the Macbook, I had to open the lid and use touch ID and then close the lid. Among the problems were a memory corruption issue and integer overflow on macOS and iOS, and buffer overflow and use after free issues on older iOS devices.

I got a new Macbook Pro (and really love it) - normally I use it with the lid closed at home connected via HDMI to a monitor with bluetooth peripherals.
